It is Monday today and I am travelling up ‘north’ (its west midlands really, but southerner here!) to visit my boyfriend for the week, and thought I would share how I packed my stuff in this tiny and outrageously loudly coloured suitcase! I tell you, I shan’t be missed when I am running around the Underground – Northern line going north, that’s me!
When packing to go anywhere I always like to take the bare necessities, nothing more and nothing less. This involves wading through the ‘jungle’ (that word play though…) that is my disorganised wardrobe!
First thing is first: I pack myself a pair of black skinny jeans, they are an essential not only their ability to be smart and casual but they are versatile for all weathers which Mother Nature can chuck at the United Kingdom. My denim jacket goes with me everywhere also, if it rains I have an umbrella and that is me all good to go. And my white Converse tag’s along always also, they are just so darn comfortable so it is a no-brainer, and they also look really fresh with everything.
The rest of clothes is pretty simple, I picked out three other tops which can be layered with my denim jacket and a black denim skirt for if the weather is warm. The key to packing smartly is to take clothes which are suitable for both kinds of weather, but to be quite honest the UK has been lovely weather wise so hopefully, it shall continue
Needless to say, I packed underwear, pyjamas and toiletries; deodorant, shower products and makeup (just everyday things like my mascara, eyebrow pencil, but I don’t wear makeup every day), I just took a range of products for if we went somewhere nice or if I wanted to do my makeup properly!
I roll all my clothes up, not only does it prevent creasing but it maximises the amount which you can pack! This suitcase is quite small so I wanted to be able to fit everything in in it and only have what I need for the journey in my rucksack, things like my book, phone, wallet, water, etc.
So here we are, all packed and to go! Wish me luck on a 4-hour journey to the ‘north’, it is okay I have Rowling with me…
