My Liebster Award 2017

The blogging community is wonderful and with so many talented writers and creators; I am so excited to be part of it! As this blog is very new and I am still trying to make my mark in the blogging community and can I just say it is truly wonderful and have spoken to some lovely and talented bloggers!

Yesterday I was kindly nominated by Natalie Hanson (her amazing blog can be found here) to do this tag, so thank you! The Liebster Award is floating around in the blogging community (how many times can I type that word?!) and its purpose is for bloggers to help promote other bloggers, especially those who are newly founded (like myself). Bloggers just discuss what made them initially start blogging and what have you!

There are some rules:

  • Recognise the blogger who tagged you
  • Answer the 11 questions you were asked
  • Tag 11 new bloggers with less than 200 followers on Twitter, Facebook, or by email subscriptions
  • Create 11 new questions for your nominees

Hope you enjoy and read until the end to follow my newly discovered bloggers!

1. Out of all the countries, you have visited, which one did you like the most?

The countries I have visited are France, Belgium, Spain, India and parts of the UK (it doesn’t quite count, but I thought I would just throw it in there!) And my favourite by far is India; I am dying to go back there! It is bursting with colour and culture, when I was out there I rode elephants and whizzed around in tuk-tuks! I would love to be out there for Diwali and Holi as those festivals look phenomenal and visit the Taj Mahal because it is such a building of beauty!

2. Why did you start blogging?

I have always had a love for writing, not as an author particularly (however I used to write stories as a child, like most of us!) but just creatively. I think what appealed to me most about starting a blog at first (+ still now) is that I can write anything I like and it can reach so many people. When I came across blogging in 2014 I knew I had to do it too! However as explained in my About page, I didn’t really have a clue, so I gave up on my old blog and started this one. It was honestly the best decision as I have developed as a writer and been in contact with some lovely people! I intend to carry on blogging for the rest of my life whether I have 10 followers or 500, I just want to write to inspire and connect with people!

3. Who is your role model?

Audrey Hepburn.

If you do not personally know me then, I absolutely l o v e  her! She is my style icon, ultimate girl crush and role model all rolled into one. Her style and grace are timeless just like her humbled presence. She is considered to date one of the most beautiful women ever and she was beautiful inside as she was out, devoting her later life to philanthropy.

4. What advice would you give to new bloggers?

Be original: stick to what reflects yourself, but I don’t mean play it safe! For example, I couldn’t see myself doing any blog posts like my makeup routine or what is in my bag because I have no clue how o do my makeup and my bag is just a mess all the time! If you establish with yourself and readers what you blog is about, then writing will flow easier! But all in all, just have fun with it and make sure that you like what you are writing else how will anyone else like what you like!

5. What are your favourite TV/Netflix series?

How I Met Your Mother – I have watched the whole series about 20 times (not exaggerating!) It is great for when you want a laugh and something easy to watch!

Girl Boss – Sass and style, what more would you want?! It tells the story of how the founder of ‘Nasty Gal’ created the worldwide business, would highly recommend!

Gossip Girl – purely for Chuck Bass! Guys and gals he is just

bea-utiful

! The drama and secrets which swirl around the upper east side will have you hooked like it did me! xoxo…

6. How long have you been blogging for?

As explained before I had a previous blog but turned out it wasn’t what I wanted, so I created this one and I could be happier! So properly; only under 2 months and I am loving it!

7. What are 3 countries you would love to visit, and why?

Vietnam  – for the food and caves. I have seen so many travel Instagrams of the beautiful caves which are in Vietnam, they look breathtaking and I need to go and see them myself!

Iceland – again for the scenery! I am a geography nerd as well and I have read so much about the different land forms like Eyjafjallajökull, hot springs and the framing mountains!

The United Arab Emirates –  I have read a lot about Dubai especially and it looks exquisite! I am dying to stay at the Atlantis Palm even if it costs me my life savings! I would also like to visit other countries in the UAE like Qatar and of course Abu Dhabi

7. Name one long-term and one short-term goal for your blog

Short-term – keep up to date with my social media especially twitter! It is so easy and fun to connect with other like-minded bloggers using twitter also!

Long-term – build a decent following, of course, that is all bloggers goal but I want to connect to other people through my writing and blog! I hope to write much more than ‘my favourite sun cream’, I hope to write and inspire!

9. What is your favourite book?

That is a difficult one! But I would have to say The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald – it is set in the roaring twenties which is my favourite era not only for writing but for fashion! There is a sense of meaning in the book in amongst all its mischief and sophistication.

10. What do you love about yourself?

Gosh, this is a tough one! I wouldn’t say I ‘love’ anything about myself but more I find my greatest strength is my ability to communicate with people, whether online or in person – I love meeting and talking to new people. I think we can all learn things from each other if we give the time to listen.

 11. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

Well, I hope that I still write and that I continue to learn – not just academically but through personal growth. I am a strong believer that nobody is perfect (myself very much included) so I hope that in five years and for the rest of my life I can keep learning every day to spread more kindness and encourage others. But also with a cat and a corgi ha!
