Beauty blenders have blessed our makeup bags for a quite time now; this trend has only gotten more and more popular as years have gone on, as everyone seems to have a version, myself included. However cleaning them can be a real pain and there is a fear of nasties making residence in our sponges.
Fear not. I have my cheap-ass solution: a bar of soap.
Loves I don’t think that it matters what soap you get (of course I have not tested them all!) but the one I am using here is the Dove Beauty Cream Bar which I got from Boots for 80p (I had points on my advantage card, so technically I got it for free!)
The blender sponge which I am demonstrating is actually a knock off of the Beauty Blender, from Poundland, I have no shame in admitting it because it works pretty good for a pound!
Unlike what the sponge is doing to the makeup residue, I’m not going to ‘break down’ the process step-by-step (it was right there, I had to…) because I think it is pretty self-explanatory. You run some warm water, wet the sponge and just clean of the product.
As you can see by the photos below, the water at first is showing all the product coming out of the sponge until it runs clear, I changed the water a couple of times also. Make sure you get all the excess soap and as much water as possible, it will help the drying process!
I love this little money-saving and not to mention time-saving trick (it only took me about 3 minutes to fully clean!) and I hope you shall too.
If you try it out then tweet me, I would love to hear that it worked for you too!
