The only skincare I need

I have just returned from holidaying in Gran Canaria – it was a lovely break before going back to Uni which is really great!

As we all know (well for me at least), when going on holiday it is the struggle of ‘what to bring or what not to bring’. It is the never ending struggle of not wanting to over pack but also not leaving yourself short of stuff whilst on a trip away from home.

As I this has been my second holiday this summer, I have had a little practice on what I actually need when it comes down to it skin care wise.

With skin care I like to keep my products simple and minimum, I have been using most of these products for years and they keep my skin happy and healthy.

So what skin care did I really take to Gran Canaria?

As shown above, here they are!

All precariously balanced on the edge of our hotel room balcony, I wanted the back-drop going on!

Makeup removal

Clinique’s Take the Day Off cleansing balm is my absolute favourite as it takes every trace of my makeup off with just a swipe of a makeup cloth! It is fragrance-free which is great for my sensitive skin and even why I had acne it never used to break me out even more. Would highly recommend if you haven’t tried it already.

Bobbi Brown’s Instant Long-Wear makeup remover – I picked this up from TKMaxx before I went on holiday on a whim just to try out, isn’t as good as Clinique’s cleaning balm, won’t continue to use it.

Moisturise, moisturise

Superdrug’s Hydrating Serum is a fabulous fragrance-free (can you see a trend) product which is dead cheap and ‘does what it says on the tin’. It makes my skin feel smoother and helps it retain moisture from my moisturiser also.

Pond’s Hydronorishing cream is my new favourite as it melts into the skin and doesn’t leave any greasy residue on the skin. You could honestly layer and layer this on and the skin just drinks it up! The best moisturiser I have ever tried, so of course, it had to come along too.

Everything else

Avene’s Emulsion is a favourite of mine, I did a blog post on (which can be found here) a couple of months back. Still loving it and so is my skin

Clinique’s Anti-blemish Solutions clinical clearing gel is a life -saver when you get an unexpected breakout, when on holiday that is the last thing one wants. I always take that with me just in case, dab it on before bed and spots redness and size is reduced by the morn.

(I wash my face with a Neutrogena face wash which I forgot to include, oops!)

Ta-da, my skin care is exactly that!

Much love,
