Testing: Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip

I have been obsessed with these liquid lip colours by Rimmel for quite a time now, they have made an appearance on the blog a few times as I have them in multiple shades. The formula applies so smoothly and does not budge- I cannot recommend them enough! When I saw this shade I knew I had to try it out because I have never seen anything so different before.

So I thought I would just write a post about the shade and what eye makeup I did to go with it and what have you.

*Slight disclaimer: this post is a bit of a random one, I’m not a beauty or makeup expert and I don’t pretend to be either!

First of all, the liquid lip shade.

So this is what it looks like on the lips, in my opinion, it looks quite different to what it looks like in the tube, but I suppose it is the same with all lip products. It looks slightly blue toned, as I was expecting a straight up grey shade nevertheless, it is unique to say the least.

To go with the lip I personally choose cooler shades, here are the products I used:

I started with putting some concealer and powder on my lids to neutralize the colour and to make the eyeshadow more vibrant.

Starting with this shade by No.7 called Truffle, applying it all over the lid with a flat brush

Using No.7 again, from this pallet which I got for Christmas last year (not too sure if they still do it but the shades can be found in their other pallets). Working along from left to right (shades 5, 6 and 7).

Used shade 7  in the crease and the shade 6 in the outer corner and the shade 5 to blend out the edges.

Yes, I use the same brush for all of these steps but that’s just me, you can alternate your brushes if that’s your thing.

To finish off the look I popped shade 6 on the outer corner of the lower lash line and the shade above (which strangle doesn’t have a name) on the inner corner of the lash line. Using a Q-Tip because its one less brush to clean!

I then applied my brows, liner and lashes on as usual and ta-da!

It is embarrassing how long it took for me to get a decent(ish) photo of the makeup, so respect to bloggers who do this on the regular!

Much love,
