I wish I could say I have people banging down my door for my opinion about anything makeup related but sadly I don’t.
Don’t get me wrong, I love makeup like the next girl or guy who has 20 lipstick shades of a lipstick but each one is ‘a different shade’.
But I have always been wary of sharing too much makeup related on the blog because I wouldn’t want people to think that I’m giving a guide or a tutorial!
Nevertheless, I do know what I like my makeup to look like and how I like to do it – that is why for my prom(s) or any special occasion, I will always want to do my own makeup because I know what works for my face and so on.
On a day when I know I am going to need some daytime makeup, my main objective is to freshen the face, so concealer and mascara always happen if I have five minutes or fifty.
I don’t use foundation on a regular basis because I find it too heavy for my skin, so I opt for a fairly full coverage concealer instead to cover any blemishes I may have, my acne scars and redness.
This Collection concealer is fairly well known in the UK beauty community for being amazing, which it is and it is so cheap!

I fully admit that makeup as a whole is not my strongest suit but I will proudly say that ‘brows’ is something I can do.
Everyone has heard the concept that ‘brows are like frames for the eyes’ – I fully agree with this because by just filling them in a little, it makes a world of difference.
I like to follow the natural shape of my eyebrows, making them a little fuller at the end.
I haven’t always used concealer around the edge of my eyebrows because I didn’t see the point in it but I would highly recommend as it just cleans up the whole look and thus an added effect on the whole face.
I fill in 2/3 of the brow, starting from the tail using a pencil from L’Oréal and then go in with the Rimmel powder and wax for the head of the brow.
Yes, I use two different concealers on my eyebrows, the Kiko one is for the upper half and the Rimmel one is for below the brow on the brow bone.
What can I say – I’m extra when it comes to my brows.

Adding a little colour back to my face is a must, I especially like blusher to do this. When applied gently, can make such a subtle but fresh difference.
This liquid highlighter by Revolution is amazing – so much so that it is practically the only one I use out for my haul of highlighters.

I usually like to keep it pretty simple when it comes to eye makeup, just a subtle hint of shadow is what I like.
Of course, I am still so in love with the ‘Naked Heat’ palette, on this particular day I used ‘Sauced’ through the socket and then ‘Low Blow’ in the outer.
Sometimes I use a little blush on the outer part of my lids to bring the look together, other days I don’t wear any shadow and then others I go a little bolder with it – it solely depends on how much time I have and what I am in the mood for.

My Nan always says ‘you are never fully dressed without some lipstick my dear’ – I have very much adopted this frame of mind from her! I never feel complete without something on my lips, even if it is just lip balm.
My all-time favourite lip colour is this combination, it is very natural looking and long wearing.
